There is a focus on performance and achieving the national cancer waiting times targets. The importance of achieving cancer targets is to ensure that people affected by cancer receive timely care that results in the best experience and clinical outcomes for them.
We are working to make better use of cancer data and intelligence to help us decide where to focus our on-going improvement plans to achieve the best results.
An example of this is that we are developing our IT systems to enable improvements in the management and delivery of cancer pathways for the benefit of patients and clinical staff.
